Bank of Palestine Sponsors Third International Conference on Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence as Strategic Partner
Bank highlights the importance of integrating AI into education and empowering Palestinian youth
Bank of Palestine served as a strategic sponsor of the Third International Conference on Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence 2026, hosted by the Arab American University as part of Palestine AI Week 2026. Held under the theme “From Vision to Implementation: Enhancing Adoption of Artificial Intelligence in Education in Palestine,” the conference reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting innovation and digital transformation while strengthening collaboration between the banking sector and academic and technology institutions.
The conference, held at the Arab American University’s Ramallah campus, brought together high-level representatives from academic institutions, the private sector, financial and technology organisations, alongside entrepreneurs, experts, specialists, students and media representatives.
The conference aimed to advance artificial intelligence (AI) beyond discussion and experimentation towards practical implementation and measurable impact, while accelerating its adoption in education. It also sought to align education with future skills, connect scientific research with practical applications, and link innovation to investment. Particular emphasis was placed on fostering partnerships among universities, private sector organisations, financial institutions, technology companies and entrepreneurs. These partnerships are essential to preparing young people for the demands of the digital economy and harnessing Palestinian talent and expertise to strengthen productive and economic capacity, creating new opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Bank of Palestine’s strategic sponsorship aligns with its digital transformation strategy and transition towards smart banking. The bank continues to advance the use of data, emerging technologies and artificial intelligence to enhance customer experience, improve operational efficiency, strengthen decision-making and automate processes. It is also leveraging technology to empower employees and facilitate access to knowledge. This approach is guided by a vision that balances technological advancement with human expertise and responsible data use, recognising AI as a tool for enhancing human capabilities and creating greater value for customers, the bank and the wider economy.
During the conference, Bank of Palestine presented its vision for artificial intelligence and its strategic priorities for digital transformation through an address delivered by Mrs. Reem Qaraqe’, Chief Retail Banking Officer at Bank of Palestine.
Qaraqe’ emphasised that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technological advancement, but a transformative force reshaping economies and the ways people work, produce and learn. She noted that the challenge today lies in translating AI’s potential into practical solutions and tangible opportunities.
She further stressed that Bank of Palestine believes investment in technology must go hand in hand with investment in people, with benefits extending to youth empowerment, stronger links between education and the labour market, and support for innovation and entrepreneurship. She reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to continued investment in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as well as to building partnerships that translate knowledge into practical applications and innovation into meaningful opportunities and tangible value for the economy and society.
As part of its ongoing efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, Bank of Palestine continues to support entrepreneurs and individuals with innovative ideas through its business incubator, Intersect, particularly in the field of financial technology (fintech). The incubator helps entrepreneurs transform their ideas into viable, scalable solutions and products while aligning innovation with market and economic needs. This initiative reflects the bank’s broader commitment to empowering Palestinian youth to become technology developers, innovators, and value creators, rather than simply users of technology.
Through its partnership in the conference, Bank of Palestine reaffirmed its belief that the true value of digital transformation and artificial intelligence lies not in the scale of the technologies deployed, but in their ability to address challenges, improve services, increase productivity, transform data into knowledge, knowledge into informed decisions, and innovation into tangible opportunities for people and the economy.
