Bank of Palestine Signs Agreement with Augusta Victoria Hospital to Support the Diabetes Mobile Clinic
Bank of Palestine signed, today, Thursday, 27/11/2025, a Memorandum of Understanding with Augusta Victoria Hospital to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two institutions, including supporting the hospital's Mobile Clinic Program, which aims to provide free medical examinations and raise health awareness about diabetes. The signing ceremony took place at the bank’s headquarters in the city of Ramallah, in the presence of Mr. Mahmoud Shawa, Director General of Bank of Palestine, and Dr. Fadi Al-Atrash, Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, along with representatives from both organizations.
Under the terms of the MoU, Bank of Palestine will provide financial support to enable the continued operation of the Mobile Diabetes Clinic until the end of 2025, facilitating its outreach across various Palestinian governorates, with special focus on underserved areas, rural communities, and marginalized localities. Specialized medical teams will conduct free diabetes screenings, including blood glucose level tests, as well as retinal, foot, and eye examinations for diabetic patients. Educational materials will also be distributed to inform citizens about preventive measures and the importance of early detection.
In his remarks, Mr. Mahmoud Shawa emphasized that this agreement reflects Bank of Palestine’s unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility and its dedication to supporting initiatives that advance the Palestinian healthcare sector. He added that the bank continues to invest in programs that raise awareness about chronic diseases particularly diabetes by encouraging healthy lifestyles and empowering communities through preventive knowledge. He noted that this initiative will contribute to reaching thousands of citizens and facilitating their access to essential periodic screenings and sustainable preventive healthcare services.
For his part, Dr. Fadi Al-Atrash, Chief Executive Officer of Augusta Victoria Hospital, highlighted that the Mobile Clinic serves as an extension of the hospital’s ongoing educational and outreach programs aimed at combating chronic diseases, including diabetes, especially as incidence rates continue to rise across Palestine. He reaffirmed the hospital’s determination to deliver healthcare services under all circumstances, pointing to the recent success of the hospital's breast cancer awareness campaign, “Your Test, Your Life for Early Detection of Breast Cancer.”
For many years, Bank of Palestine has continued to support the Augusta Victoria Hospital’s diabetes Mobile Clinic, driven by its belief in the importance of building a health-conscious society capable of preventing diseases and mitigating their social and economic impact, ultimately contributing to the well-being of citizens and reinforcing the stability of Palestinian families.
