Bank of Palestine signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Palestine Economic Policy Research Institute (MAS), aimed at supporting research projects and enhancing the Institute’s information and media platforms, thereby contributing to the production of economic knowledge and strengthening the role of scientific research in advancing sustainable development.
The agreement was signed at the Bank’s General Management headquarters in Ramallah by Mr. Mahmoud Al-Shawa, General Manager of Bank of Palestine, and Mr. Firas Milhem, Director General of MAS, in the presence of several directors and officials from both sides.
The agreement stipulates strengthening cooperation in the preparation of specialized applied studies and research, organizing workshops, seminars, and training programs related to economic and financial issues, as well as developing joint knowledge initiatives that contribute to supporting economic decision-making. This partnership aligns with the Bank’s commitment to supporting scientific research and promoting sustainability and social responsibility, reflecting its role as an active partner in advancing the economic knowledge ecosystem at both the institutional and national levels.
In this context, Al-Shawa expressed the Bank’s pride in this partnership, emphasizing that supporting national research institutions constitutes a fundamental pillar in efforts to promote sustainable development. He stated: “Bank of Palestine believes in the pivotal role that research centers play in producing sound economic knowledge and providing the scientific analysis necessary to formulate effective economic policies, thereby supporting development paths and enhancing economic stability.” He added that the agreement will open broader horizons for cooperation and exchange of expertise between the banking sector and research institutions, strengthening the development of a knowledge base that supports data-driven and evidence-based economic planning.
For his part, Milhem affirmed that this partnership represents a strategic step toward enhancing the Institute’s capacity to implement its research programs and expand its knowledge production. He noted that the agreement will support applied research and the development of the Institute’s information and media platforms, serving researchers and decision-makers alike, promoting knowledge-based economic dialogue, and contributing to sustainable development efforts in Palestine.
