Bank of Palestine, Juzoor, and Augusta Victoria Hospital Conclude Diabetes Prevention Campaign

Ramallah – Bank of Palestine, in partnership with Augusta Victoria “Al-Mutlaa” Hospital, Juzoor for Health & Social Development, the Palestinian Ministry of Health, and the International Diabetes Federation, concluded the 2025 National Diabetes Awareness Campaign, launched under the theme “The Diabetes Journey… A Story of Awareness and Safety”, in observance of World Diabetes Day.

The campaign aimed to strengthen public awareness of the importance of diabetes prevention and early detection, and to promote healthy lifestyles that help reduce the spread of the disease and its complications.

The campaign, launched by the Bank and its partners, included a wide range of awareness, media, and field activities. These initiatives featured the dissemination of messages across social media platforms, the broadcast of radio spots, and the organization of health days in the West Bank governorates, particularly in Masafer Yatta, Jenin, Hebron, Ramallah, and Nablus. Medical advice was provided at the Ministry of Health directorates to help contain the disease and prevent complications.
In the Gaza Strip, the campaign included a comprehensive health program offering free medical tests, distribution of healthy meals, and the provision of essential medications that patients had been deprived of for extended periods due to the war.

In addition to supporting the campaign, Bank of Palestine also provided support to the mobile clinic operated by Augusta Victoria Hospital, enabling it to continue visiting communities through the end of the month. The specialized medical team offered free tests to measure blood glucose levels, as well as retinal and foot examinations for diabetes patients.

Bank of Palestine emphasized that its support for this campaign is aligned with its commitment to social responsibility as an active banking institution that forms an integral part of the national fabric, working to contribute to sustainable community and public health development.

The Bank affirmed that investing in the health of Palestinian citizens is an investment in the future—one that encourages generosity, productivity, and engagement in building the nation and shaping a healthier, more prosperous tomorrow.

The Bank added that its support for the campaign reflects its vision of promoting sustainable development and supporting national efforts to advance public health, particularly in areas related to chronic diseases that affect wide segments of society. The Bank noted that over the past years it has spared no effort in supporting awareness campaigns to combat diabetes, to spread sound health practices and raise awareness of the disease’s risks and its health, social, and economic impact.

This achievement also comes within the pioneering role of Juzoor, the institution responsible for managing the National Diabetes Program. Juzoor continues to advance early detection and comprehensive follow-up services for diabetes patients in Palestine, while strengthening community awareness regarding prevention and treatment, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Augusta Victoria Hospital, and the International Diabetes Federation.

It is worth noting that Bank of Palestine continues to support health initiatives, medical events, and various healthcare institutions as part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening the health sector, empowering institutions, and enhancing their ability to perform their vital role in improving healthcare outcomes in Palestine and meeting the community’s need for comprehensive and sustainable health services.
