Bank of Palestine celebrated the opening of ALWASATA Securities on Saturday 27th January 2007 in Gaza. ALWASATA is an affiliated company of the Bank of Palestine which owns 77.5% of its capital of USD 2 million.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Executive Manager of Palestine Securities Exchange Dr. Hassan Abu Libda in Ramallah through video conference, and by chairman of ALWASATA board Mr. Ala`a Ghalayini in Gaza.

The event took place in the conference hall of the Bank of Palestine.

The Chairman and General Manager of the bank Dr. Hani Shawa together with members of the board and a large number of the investors and business people were present.

ALWASATA Securities deal with stocks listed on the Palestine Securities Exchange and other markets. It is intended to be the investment arm of the Bank of Palestine as well as buying and selling of stock for customers and managing investment portfolios.
