On Tuesday, 31/12/2019, Bank of Palestine made the draw on the grand prize for the savings accounts program, which was launched at the beginning of the year to encourage customers and citizens to open savings account. The draw ceremony was held at Al Manara Square in Ramallah through live videoconferencing with the directors and employees of the bank’s headquarters in Gaza City. The draw was held in the presence of the General Director of Bank of Palestine, Mr. Thaer Hamayel, the Chief of Businesses Retail officer at Bank of Palestine, several heads of BoP departments, and crowds of citizens, bank customers and media persons. The draw was made electronically, whereby all the bank’s savings accounts appeared on a screen, and the grand prize of half a million dollars went to Saher Inad Abu Jabal, from the Maythalun office part of Jenin branch.
The bank launched the largest national campaign to encourage its customers to open savings account under the campaign “make 5 your lucky number” offering savers the opportunity to win a daily prize in the amount of $5,000, a monthly prize in the amount of $50,000 and the grand prize of $500,000 at the end of the year.
Mr. Rushdi Ghalayini, the General Director of Bank of Palestine, congratulated the winners of the grand prize and the winners of the daily and monthly prizes, ensuring that the bank will continue to create unique and advanced campaigns, programs and banking products for its customers. According to Ghalayini, “the campaign achieved great success, increased the confidence of customers in the bank and promoted their satisfaction, whereby the amount of prizes on the savings accounts for 2019 reached approximately $1.4 million.” Ghalayini stressed the importance of promoting the culture of saving in Palestinian society and providing the opportunity for all savers to win daily prizes. “The bank will continue to launch the best campaigns and state of the art programs and meet the expectations of customers who wish to save their money at the bank,” stated Ghalayini.
Mr. Thaer Hamayel, the Chief of Businesses Retail officer at Bank of Palestine, stated that the savings campaign that was launched by the bank at the beginning of 2019 is considered the largest campaign launched on a national scale. According to Hamayel, “almost 120 savers won daily prizes in the amount of $5,000 each, and six savers won monthly prizes in the amount of $50,000 each.” “Today, for the first time in Palestine, the draw will be made on the grand prize in the amount of $500,000”, he added. Hamayel also pointed out that the Baraem children’s savings accounts and the Ana Ou Shatarti savings accounts, also formed part of the draw on the daily and monthly prizes and the grand prize, as part of the campaign “make 5 your lucky number.” All savers who had $200 or more in their savings accounts had the opportunity to enter the draw, and increased their opportunities by saving more.
