Bank of Palestine provides its sponsorship for the activities of the 59th Ramallah Convention held in Houston, Texas

Bank of Palestine contributed to sponsoring the activities of the 59th Ramallah Convention that is organized by the Ramallah Federation and the Palestinian community in Houston, Texas, on 10 and 11 July 2017. The Convention gathers a huge number of Palestinian economic and social figures and businessmen from all ages in the United States.

In addition to the 2000 people from the Palestinian Diaspora community participating in the Convention, the event also hosted Mr. Mousa Hadid, the Mayor of Ramallah, His Excellency Mr. Husam Zomlot, the Palestinian Ambassador to the United States, Mr. Aqel Biltaji, the Vice Chairman of the Royal Jordanian Board of Directors, and Mr. Ghazi Hanania, former member of the Palestinian Legislative Council. The Convention included a speech by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and a message from His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.

The 59th Ramallah Convention in the United States aims to continue the efforts to develop tools for cultural, social, and historic communication and exchange, especially with the participation of several Palestinian figures and families and families from the United States Palestinian Diaspora communities from all backgrounds and age groups. Bank of Palestine provided its sponsorship for the 59th annual Ramallah Convention 2017, held in Houston, Texas, in cooperation with several organizations and companies in the United States and Palestine.

The Convention activities include: an honoring ceremony for His Excellency Mr. Maen Ereikat, former Palestinian Ambassador to the United States, as well as the medical teams that performed operations in Palestine last year; discussions for the provision and approval of 30 educational scholarships in Palestine and 20 scholarships in the United States; the organization of three trips that include Americans to visit Palestine; the organization and approval of a medical mission to hospitals in Palestine with the participation of Palestinian and American doctors; a report on the 20 medical beds that were donated for the emergency room at the Ramallah Hospital; the allocation of a budget for the provision of donations for local organizations and needy families in Ramallah during the holidays; and last but not least, the election of a new president and vice president for the Convention. During the Convention, participants will approve the organization of developmental projects for Palestine during the period between 20 July and 6 August.

The Ramallah Convention will also feature several artistic, cultural and Palestinian heritage activities, in addition to official and casual meetings and gatherings that seek to build solid grounds for promoting Palestine as an attraction for investors and encourage Palestinians to return to their homeland.
