To Contribute to Developing Children’s Capacities
Bank of Palestine Supports Steps Foundation’s Sports for Development Programs
Bank of Palestine has provided its support to the Steps Foundation to strengthen its sports programs and educational activities, in a move aimed at developing children’s physical and mental capacities, enhancing their life skills, broadening their cultural and educational awareness, and improving the professional skills of male and female coaches participating in the programs and activities.
This support comes as part of the Bank’s efforts to enhance the Foundation’s sports and developmental programs and educational activities, which offer children of both genders an integrated experience that combines sports and learning, life skills development, and the promotion of equality values, in addition to providing safe spaces for play. These efforts contribute to enhancing children’s well-being and supporting their community engagement through sports.
Bank of Palestine affirmed that it places great importance on supporting institutions and associations that seek to provide initiatives and activities aimed at empowering children and strengthening their capacities, thereby contributing to the creation of a safe and stimulating environment for growth, learning, and the discovery of creativity.
The Bank added that supporting such institutions reflects its firm commitment, within its vision of serving the community and as part of its corporate social responsibility, enhancing its humanitarian and developmental role alongside its banking role. This is particularly relevant to institutions working with children, by addressing their needs and enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities toward this group, which requires greater care and attention.
For its part, the Steps Foundation stated that the project will be implemented through the delivery of sports training units for children under the “Sports for Development” program over two months, with the participation of 240 children (50% girls). The program will be led by male and female coaches from Steps teams in partner clubs and sports centers, with two training sessions per week that combine play, learning, and the development of technical and life skills, contributing to the provision of supportive spaces for children’s development and the promotion of gender equality.
The Foundation added that there is an intention to continue building on the outcomes of this phase through subsequent training programs, ensuring the sustainability of impact, enhancing training quality, and maintaining the engagement of coaches in developing their performance.
The Steps Foundation commended Bank of Palestine for its efforts in supporting its programs, noting that this support contributes to strengthening the Foundation’s capabilities and enables children to access high-quality educational and sports environments, while enhancing their ability to become active members of their communities.
