Bank of Palestine sponsors Team Palestine at London 2012 Olympics

 

As part of Bank of Palestine's continuing support of Palestinian sports, and in an effort to encourage the team to represent Palestine in the best way possible, BoP sponsored Team Palestine in London 2012 Olympics, which is currently taking place in London.


BoP's staff, as part of enhancing the Olympic spirit and Palestine's participation, wore Team Palestine t-shirts for a whole week. The aim was to get as many Palestinians as possible, from different backgrounds and professions, to support Team Palestine at the Olympics.

 

This year's team is made up of five athletes, led by swimmer Sabine Hazoboun, sprinter Bahaa al Farra, Judo player Maher Abu Rmeilih, swimmer Ahmad Gebrel, and sprinter Worood Sawalha, in addition to a number of other delegates.

 

BoP's support for Team Palestine in London 2012 comes as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility to support various fields, including youth and sports, and as a national Recently, BoP signed an agreement with the Palestinian Football union to support Palestine's Bara'em Championship in Gaza and the West Bank, to prepare young athletes for the Qatar 2022 World Championship. Bank of Palestine allocates 5% of its annual profits to CSR; in 2011 alone, the bank donated $1.8 million to fund a variety of projects and initiatives across different fields.
