BOP has made an emergency donation of medicine and medical supplies worth the amount of USD 25,000 to Maqassed Hospital in Jerusalem, believing in the importance of the medical services the provides to the Palestinian people despite the tremendous challenges and difficulties it is facing. The donation coincided with the sorry incidents taking place on Jerusalem resulting in the injury of hundreds of Palestinian civilians most of whom are being taken care of at Maqassed Hospital.
BOP, in cooperation with Maqassed Hospital, has decided to launch a campaign to collect donations during the next few days through BOP branches and ATMs as well as online banking services, which will facilitate the donation process for citizens. Moreover, BOP will open a special bank account for the collection of donations.
Earlier BOP has signed an agreement with Maqassed Hospital whereby the bank will donate mobile homes “caravans” to the hospital with the view of providing accommodation for escorts of patients coming from outside Jerusalem.
It must be mentioned that BOP has recently provided support to Jerusalem hospitals including Augusta Victoria and St. John Opthalmic Hospital.
