BOP Concludes Participation in SIBOS 36th Session in Boston, USA

Consistently with its vision to learn from international expertise in the provision of financial services and products, and with the view of enhancing BOP relations with global organizations, BOP concluded its participation in the SWIFT International Banking Operations Seminar (SIBOS) 2014 held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, in the period between 29 September through 2 October 2014.

The one-week conference is a key event in the financial sector worldwide that brings together more than 7,000 decision makers in the field of finance and economy around the world, as well as executive directors, chairpersons of banks, funds and financial institutions. In addition, IT companies contributing to planning and developing banking systems around the world take part in the conference. According to experts, the future of Arab banks is very much dependent on modern technology such as automation and mobile solutions.

A number of banking, financial and investment services were presented during SIBOS 2014 conference and participants discussed the future of payments, securities, the management of funds and commerce, as well as the major technical and legislative challenges the banking and financial sector is facing. 

By way of taking part in SIBOS, BOP seeks to strengthen its presence on the global banking map and highlight its interest in developing its financial products in line with the latest developments taking place in the world of finance and banking. BOP also seeks to meet the various banking needs in the Palestinian society. The Bank consistently looks for best the means to empower and develop Palestinian economy through networking, developing economic relations with financial institutions and changing the stereotypic picture about Palestine, as well as attracting new investors who would contribute to create projects and establishments toward alleviating unemployment and increase the rate of growth and development.
