Bank of Palestine begins the implementation of a training program under the title of “Banking Specialist” for the students of Gaza University

On June 1, 2014, Bank of Palestine began the implementation of a training program under the title of “Banking Specialist”, through a cooperative and institutional partnership with Gaza University in Gaza, with participation of 28 third and fourth-year students from the College of Economics and Administrative Sciences.

In continuation of its support to the development and education sector, Bank of Palestine initiated the establishment of the fourth consecutive program with the universities in Gaza Strip; the program aims to advance the academic competences and enhance the applied capabilities for the students at Palestinian universities, in addition to reducing the gap between academic theories and practical work and improve their banking education and their self-development to become qualified students to enter the labor market.

The program includes 100 hours of training, in which 60 hours are conducted at Gaza University and 40 hours are conducted in the simulated banking branch at Bank of Palestine’s training center; the students are trained on performing banking transactions through virtual programs that include the services provided by Bank of Palestine, including the provision of loans, provision of facilitations to customers and corporate, international financial remittances, credit, balance statements and check books; at the conclusion of the training, the students who passed the specialized and comprehensive exam with a “very good” rating will be awarded with certificates as banking specialists.

The program is the first collaborative program with the College of Economics and Administrative Sciences at Gaza University; Bank of Palestine expresses its continuous readiness to receive proposals that serve the banking sector and the students majoring in this sector; the Bank also expresses its pride for the leading role by Gaza University to graduate competent students.
