In partnership with Juthur Foundation for Health and Social Development, the Ministry of Health, the Augusta Victoria Hospital and the Ramallah Municipality, Bank of Palestine launched a campaign about the importance of preventing diabetes in Palestine under the slogan “our health is sweeter than diabetes.” The launch of this campaign coincided with the National Campaign that was launched by the Ministry of Health for preventing and combatting diabetes. 
The launch was held during a press conference that was organized at the Ramallah Municipality on 7/11/2019, in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Layla Ghannam, the Governor of Ramallah and Al Bireh, Dr. May Keileh, the Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Engineer Musa Hadid, the Mayor of Ramallah, Mr. Rushdi Ghalayini, the General Director of Bank of Palestine, Dr. Umayyah Al Khammash, the General Director of Juzur Foundation, Dr. Walid Nammur, the General Director of the Augusta Victoria Hospital, and several health and media organizations, and department directors from Bank of Palestine.
All those present stressed the importance of spreading awareness about health practices and habits related to food and sports, which prevent from diabetes. According to statistics, the number of cases carrying this disease has more than tripled during the last 30 years to hit 15% of the population, whereby one fifth of those who approach health centers are suffering from diabetes and the number of new patients who are hit with the disease on a yearly basis exceeds 10,000, and might increase to 15,000. 
The efforts conducted by Bank of Palestine and its partners in support of this campaign and all the relevant health, social and developmental activities to combat the increasing rise of diabetes were highly commended, as they are all aimed at securing a healthy society. The participants stressed the importance of partnerships between the public sector, the private sector and civil society to stand strong and confront all economic and social challenges and develop health awareness tools on a national scale. 
The campaign, whose activities were also implemented in the Gaza Strip, was promoted by the media, and also involved the participation of school children in spreading their awareness through sports and plays.
